Stretch your spiritual body this year!

Every year I find something to dedicate myself to for the next twelve months. Last year I read the bible through; the year before I created a prayer journal. I struggled with what to do this year when my daughter gave me the solution as a Christmas gift.

She gave me a box with 56 thank you cards, and a gratitude journal. I will send one card a week to someone with the purpose of encouraging and showing my love. I will log in the journal about the relationships God has given me.

I don’t know about you, but I spend too much time in negative thought, stressing over what is wrong, what might happen, and how life has failed me. It is easy to forget the huge blessings that surround me every day, and they are many.

Why not join me? You may not want to commit to a yearly project, but buy a stack of friendship cards and send them to those you know who could use a word of encouragement. I remember getting a card from a ladies group at my church years ago, a simple card signed by all the members. It touched my heart so much to be remembered. Of course I cried. But my point is, something simple can make a big difference.
